According to Genesis 1, God brought space, time and matter into being by divine edict. This is evidenced by the repeated phrases Then God said, "Let there be ..." or Then God said, "Let the ...".

The creation story climaxes in verse 26 with the creation of man. 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. "Then God said, "Let us make human beings in our image." Genesis 1:26

Moses' account of creation concludes. 31 Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!

From these passages, it is clear from Genesis 1 that God took the initiative to create. This further reinforces that God was the transcedent first-cause for creation [COS-DS01].

Through everything God has made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Romans 1:19-20

For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen. Romans 11:36
